Zambra is a tradition that has survived against all odds for more than 500 years. It is the oldest historically documented flamenco form. However, Zambra is now a dance in danger of extinction.
Aware of this danger, Puela Lunaris, founder of Dances of the World Society, has dedicated many years of her live to research and rescue different styles of Zambras, specially the Flamenco forms that she loved and danced from childhood.
Inspired by the request of her Bellydance students, Puela Lunaris, has produced the educational DVD Zambra Flamenca and is now working on a DVD on Zambra Gitana.
In the Zambra Flamenca DVD you will find a full choreography clearly broken down step by step. You will also find a short film with a historical overview of the Zambra tradition.
