Chanelar is
a kaló word -Kaló is the language of the Spanish
gypsies- derived from the Sanscrit Jñana, that
means: to know, to understand.
The
Chanelar Project is a program of Dances of the World Society
dedicated to Flamenco that pursues two main objectives:
- Preserving Flamenco as a Culture and an Oral Tradition.
- Preserving aspects of Flamenco, as a Perfoming Art, that are in danger of extinction.
Our most important activities to fulfill these objectives are to produce audiovisual materials and present shows that honor
these aspects of Flamenco.
